Puzzle: What Else Is There To Do On Monday?
It’s Monday, and I have nothing to write about. The Republican primary is still going on but that’s old news (really old).
This past weekend, a friend emailed me this puzzle. I tried to solve it for a while, but the more I tried to work out the answer, the harder it seemed. I had to get my friend to email me the answer.
When she did, I wondered if it’s really true that pre-school children can solve this in 5 to 10 minutes. But on second thought, I don’t doubt it.
We grown-ups (and especially we women) tend to complicate things. We come up with convoluted reasons for things that happen (or not) to us, when the answers are usually a lot simpler. Wasn’t it Sex and the City who taught us that if the guy you went out with hasn’t called you back, after a week, it’s not that he’s busy, “he’s just not that into you”?
But before I go any further attempting to write a post on the female human psyche, in order to feel a bit less stupid about not having been able to solve the puzzle, I’ll just stop. It’s just a puzzle. Give it a shot and let me know how it goes.

It is just a puzzle in wich it is presumed that children do not see numbers but shapes. Hwever, that logic stops at the point that they need to unrestand the numbers after the equal so they can find the answer.
The result is the number of closed loops in each set, for example 8 has 2 loops, 9 has 1 and 2 has 0.
Hats Off to you. Did you figure it out by yourself or did a pre-schooler give you the answer? LOL. You’re right, though. I think the number after the equal sign would probably throw the pre-schoolers off. Thanks for the comment.
